Mike Bolen : Field Services
Mike joined GWA Inc. in June 2016 as a field representative, bringing with him a wealth of experience in healthcare and campus electrical systems. Prior to joining the firm, he retired from the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC) after serving 28 years in campus and healthcare facilities. His experience at MUSC includes:
2006 – 2016
Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Infrastructure Manager where he oversaw all infrastructure, projects, maintenance, and daily activities for all hospital facilities. Work included all aspects of budgeting and procurement including ordering materials, bidding projects, construction as well as working with accreditation agency and health department.
1996 – 2006
MUSC Electric Shop Supervisor where he oversaw all electrical projects, maintenance, and daily activities for both university and hospital facilities. Worked with all aspects of budgeting and procurement including ordering materials, bidding projects and construction.
1994 – 1996
MUSC Alarm Shop Supervisor where he oversaw all fire alarm systems for both the university and hospital facilities.
1988 – 1994
Worked as an electrician, maintenance technician and alarm technician.
Mr. Bolen’s work with GWA includes assistance in planning, design and development, project management and construction observation of power distribution (medium and low voltage), emergency power systems, grounding, communications, fire alarm, and lighting systems on for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
General project experience includes institutional, healthcare, industrial, airports, commercial, correctional, educational, military, manufacturing facilities, and roadways.
Mr. Bolen's continuing education includes courses and seminars in electrical inspections, grounding, fire alarm systems, electrical codes, and emergency power systems.
