GERVAIS STREET BRIDGE

The Gervais Street Bridge is a reinforced concrete arched bridge listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The current bridge is the third bridge built on the site and was constructed in 1928.

The existing low-pressure sodium lighting standards were removed and restored, including all new ballasts, sockets and wiring, but the low pressure lamping was kept to maintain the historic appearance. The existing lead-covered cabling was removed and a new electrical system was designed to allow maintenance from the sidewalk level.
