Orangeburg County Library and Conference Center

The new Orangeburg County Library and Conference Center is an approximately 40,000 SF multi-use facility that provides a modern, public library experience to the residents of Orangeburg, SC. In addition to the library space, the Conference Center includes meeting and educational space for training events, conventions, and other special events. The Orangeburg County Library and Conference Center also features an outdoor amphitheater, children’s playground and green space for community events.

GWA Inc. worked closely with the architect to design the power distribution, electrical and communication infrastructure, lighting design and controls, fire alarm design, and mechanical equipment to suit the needs of the County and their operational plans for the facility.

In conjunction with electrical design for the library and conference center, GWA provided design for IT and A/V distribution systems. The designs included category 6 and 6A horizontal cabling as well as an OM3, fiber optic backbone. In addition, design and specification of computer servers and associated information technology systems were provided.  Finally, a complete audio/visual system was designed for use in the library and conference center.
